  2. Follow the step-by-step instructions to configure the app.

DriveMate Setup Page in Salesforce

Choose Google Application

The first setup choice is which Google Cloud Console application DriveMate should use to connect to Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

OptionWhen to useWhat you need
DriveMate Google Cloud Console Application (default)Most orgsNothing in Google Cloud Console — credentials are applied automatically
Your own Google Cloud Console ApplicationYou want to manage your own OAuth clientA Client ID and Client Secret from a Google Cloud project you create

DriveMate's application is ready to use with no Google Cloud setup required on your side. If you switch between applications later, you must re-authorize the Google Drive connection.

Authorization mode (company vs per user) is a separate choice later in setup. It controls who authorizes Google access, not which Google application is used.

Using your own Google Cloud Console Application

  1. Complete Google Cloud Console Configuration to create the OAuth client and copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
  2. On the DriveMate Setup page, turn off Use DriveMate Google Cloud Console Application.
  3. Under Configure Google Drive Integration, enter the Client ID and Client Secret, then save.
  4. Finish the remaining setup steps, including authorization.

Tip: When using your own credentials, keep two browser tabs open — one for Google Cloud Console and one for Salesforce Setup — to speed up copy-and-paste steps.

Existing orgs with custom credentials

Orgs that already connected with their own Client ID and Secret stay on that configuration after upgrade. You can keep using your own application, or switch to DriveMate's application from the setup page when you are ready. Switching requires re-authorization.
